This wiki coordinates the technical setup of the Internet NG 2007, which will be hold on the 16th of October from 9:30 – 19:00 Madrid time (or 7:30 – 17:00 UTC/GMT) (Check your local starting time here.).

Isabel will be used to transform auditoriums in all sites participating in local access points where interested researchers can participate interactively in the Internet NG 2007. To set up a remote Isabel site for interactive participation follow the instructions for Isabel Sites.

If you are a speaker and have viewgraps please follow the instructions for submitting presentations.

Isabel sites will appear in the list of participating sites as they confirm participation.

[edit] Instructions for Isabel Sites

If you plan to set up an Isabel site please do as follows:

  1. Confirm participation. Click here to generate a mail to the organisers (J. Quemada, A. Carril, J. Mejia) and then
    1. In the mail which pops up, fill your InstitutionName, URL, Town and Country, as well as the Name, Email and Telefone of both, the OrganisationalContact of your site and the TechnicalContact encharged of Isabel set up and test.
    2. Send the email.
  2. Install an Isabel PC following the instructions. Installing Isabel on hard disk is mandatory for sites making a presentation and highly recommended for the rest.
  3. Connect a room or auditorium for setting up a local access point for interactive participation following the guidelines for connecting a room or auditorium to Isabel.
  4. Participate in the tests as scheduled in the Test Schedule.

[edit] Test Schedule for Isabel Sites

Forum participants shall set up and test the Isabel platform as follows:

  1. Install Isabel and perform local tests.
  2. Test your connectivity over the Internet to the Isabel server at mcu1.dit.upm.es. The server will be always on from the 2nd of October.
  3. Arrange an end-to-end Isabel test with the technical coordinators when you are ready or need support (before 8th October).
  4. Participate in preparation workshop. It will act as a final platform test. The workshop is a final platform test and will be used to train sites in the use of Isabel. It will have two parts:
    1. Isabel tunning, set up and training (first hour). By technical coordinators and speakers.
    2. Rehearsal of remote presentations of networking session (second hour). By technical coordinators and speakers.
  5. Additional tests and problem solving in between the two workshops if needed.
  6. Participate in the Final Test. 15th of October from 9:30 – 19:00 Madrid time (or 7:30 – 17:00 UTC/GMT) (Check your local starting time here.) and will act as a final auditorium test. It is mandatory to participate from the final auditorium and with the final configuration.
  7. Internet NG 2007 event 16th of October from 9:30 – 19:00 Madrid time (or 7:30 – 17:00 UTC/GMT) (Check your local starting time here.). Participants must connect to the event one hour before the start.

[edit] Submitting presentations

If you are a speaker and have viewgraphs or anything else supporting your presentation do as follows:

  1. Click here to generate a mail to the organisers.
  2. In the mail which pops up, fill your Name, Company, TitleOfPresentation and ShortAbstract.
  3. Attach the presentation in Microsoft Powerpoint or in PDF (recommended formats) if any.
  4. Fill the SpecialPresentationNeeds field if you need something different from Microsoft Powerpoint or PDF.
  5. Send the email.
