[edit] Introduction to the BELIEF II South Africa Symposium
Welcome to the Isabel coordination page of the 5th BELIEF International Symposium taking place together with CHPC National Meeting 2009 in Johannesburg (South Africa) on Monday 7-9 December. Information about the Symposium programme available at CHPC-BELIEF II event web site. The GLOBAL Project supports the Isabel distribution over an IPv6/IPv4 transition scenario as well as the video-streaming.
The Symposium will start on 7-December at 9:25 South Africa time (or 7:25 UTC) (Check your local starting time here.).

In order to participate with Isabel in the Symposium please do as follows:
- Confirm participation by clicking here and sending the email which pops up with the requested data filled in.
- Install an Isabel PC without modifying your local laptop harddisk using the instructions below.

- Although not mandatory, we recommend to install Isabel on hard disk. If you have Isabel already installed update to the latest Isabel version.

BELIEF II South Africa Symposium remote sessions will use the following servers:
- Main Server: flow1.rediris.es (130.206.192.113 / IPv6: 2001:720:404:0:2d0:b7ff:fe10:259b)
- Backup server: mcuz.global.dit.up.es (193.146.135.12 / IPv6: 2001:720:1500:fa:21e:4fff:fee5:7606).
In order to verify your Isabel platform is ready por remote participation please contact us to arrange a thorough test.
[edit] Submitting presentations
If you are a speaker and you will be using viewgraphs or similar, please do as follows:
- Click here send aa mail to the organisers.
- In the mail which pops up, fill your Name, Company, TitleOfPresentation and ShortAbstract.
- Attach the presentation in Microsoft Powerpoint or in PDF (recommended formats).
- Fill the SpecialPresentationNeeds field if you need something different from Microsoft Powerpoint or PDF (play vídeo, etc).
- Send the email.

- SIP: The proxy to connect to the event using a SIP client is: gwsip@azul.dit.upm.es.
- Download tested SIP client: MSN Messenger 5.1.

Available recordings will be pusblished for later review. In order to test your selected connection method please contact us to arrange a thorough test.

In order to have an alternative communication channel during the meetings, it is necessary to connect to the Isabel Plaza Chat, also available with any IRC client using the following configuration:

[edit] Session Streaming and Recording
The meeting will be streamed at:
- Isabel Streaming Server 1 (Flash), located in Madrid (Spain)
- Isabel Streaming Server 2 (Windows Media)
The recorded sessions will be published for later review.
You can find instructions on how to follow a live streaming or view a downloaded stream.
